CANDLE CARE
We have taken time to make sure that you receive a beautiful Handmade Scented Soy Candle.  We have used the best of ingredients and we've tested it to make sure that it burns correctly and smells gorgeous.  Now its your turn.  To make sure that you get the best from your handmade scented soy candle, there are a few things to remember.  Here are a few guidelines to help you enjoy your candle for the maximum length of time.......

A Few Simple but important Guidelines for your favourite Soy Candle.

Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire. Keep burning candles away from paperwork on your desk, near curtains, near bedding, or anything else that can catch fire easily.

Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets. Keep burning candles away from areas where children or pets may reach them.

Trim candlewicks to 1/4 inch each time before burning. Keep wicks upright. Untrimmed wicks that are bent over into the wax will cause a candle to burn hotter than normal.  Some wicks are designed to bend slightly to give a better burn however.

Make sure your candle is placed on a heat-resistant surface. Soy Candles should never be placed in direct sunlight as they may melt even when not lit.  If you do get caught out for example.. you leave your candle in the Sun Room on the Window Cill. The day that starts out dull, turns into a scorcher and you come back to a liquid candle..... All is not lost.  First of all enjoy the scent in the room, 2nd let the candle reset, making sure that the wick is in the centre.  Leave until candle has completely set before relighting.  Sit back and enjoy.  Surfaces that cannot withstand high temperatures may be damaged .

Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times.

Do not burn your candle longer than 4 hours.   If you do, your candle will burn faster and will not last as long.  You may also get some soot at the top of the wick (like a mushroom).  If this happens, blow out the candle and let it set.  Before relighting the next day make sure that the wick is trimmed

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Extinguish all candles when leaving a room or before going to sleep.

Keep burning candles away from any drafts or fans.

Always burn candles in a well-ventilated room.  Do not burn too many candles in a small room or in a small home where air exchange is limited.

Never attempt to move a candle while it is burning.

Never touch hot candle wax.

Place burning candles at least three inches apart.  This ensures they will not melt one another.

Use a snuffer to extinguish a candle. It is the safest way to prevent hot wax splatters.  Soy wax can be cleaned with hot soapy water

Never extinguish candles with water.  The water can cause the hot wax to splatter and might cause a glass container to break.

Be very careful if using candles during a power outage. Never move around while carrying a lit candle .

Make sure a candle is completely extinguished and the wick is no longer glowing before leaving the room.

Extinguish a candle if it flickers repeatedly, smokes, or the flame becomes too high. The candle isn't burning properly. Let it cool, trim the wick, check for drafts and then re-light.

Never use a candle as a night light.

Do not burn a candle all the way down. Stop burning a candle when there is one half inch of candle wax left in the container.

Never pour melted wax down the sink, it may cause a blockage down the line and can be expensive to sort out.  You can pour the wax into the top of your oil burner, and get the most use from your scented wax.  Let it set, and then light a T Light underneath.  Enjoy.   Always pour any unwanted liquid wax into a paper towel into the bin.
